Woke up to fabulous Georgia sunrise. Our seawater pump for AC shut down after couple hours so we opened windows/ports and got out the fans. Very quiet, very comfortable with low humidity. Spent 6:30- 7am in engine room topping off the 14 inverter batteries, checking oil on 3 motors and diesel and water tank levels. After nearly 100 hours of cruising still half tank so still 350 gallons. We will refuel in GA or SC before diesel prices have just started going over $2/gallon.
Weather perfect for cruise from St Simon island anchorage near Brunswick to Savannah, GA around MM 580. Seems like endless travel through open marshes yet not boring. Dolphins, birds, and interesting homes and boats. I discovered how to cook scrambled eggs and turkey bacon in a microwave, add some tomato and chopped Serrano pepper and get an exciting breakfast.
Arrived Isle of Hope Marina in Skidaway area around 4:30pm so had enough time to borrow the courtesy car from the marina, a frightening to drive, Honda Oddysey minivan. Stuck doors, shaking steering wheel, 4 different dash warning lights lit and no gas cap. Still got us to Ace to fill the stove propane tank, dinner, and for me a MEETING. Told Capt I needed to go so he would be able to stand me for another week.
Tuesday will be a clean the boat, provision and perform some maintenance tasks.
Miss my Gail
