Key West

Continuing on our winter tour of the Florida Keys we headed to Key West to meet up with Deb & Keith & Right Hand.  This was about a 4 hour cruise with just a little rocking and barely much rolling. We stopped at Key West Bight Marina for a pump out before continuing to our anchorage to find Right Hand. Looking back I didn’t take any pics of Right Hand or their crew in Key West. Major fail on my part. What I can say is that it felt great to be reunited! We had many, many laughs and a few adventures!

How would I describe Key West? Funky, tropical, relaxed, colorful, great people watching, lush and  laid back.

The anchorage is a story unto itself! So many boats going in every which way. From the center consoles zooming by to go fishing to the derelict boats to the sunset cruise boats blaring the typical, Buffet, Marley, Van Morrison music as loud as possible to the banana boats being pulled by jet skis with screaming kids to the tour boats chasing dolphins to mega yachts to helicopters literally seeming to fly right over the fly bridge - a busy spot. So much to watch!

Sunset cruises!

We called this boat Squidward. Funny little thing - solar powered dolphin tours

More sunset cruises

Lots of toys!

We went out for lunch, watched people and boats, celebrated the Chinese New Year and thoroughly enjoyed our time in Key West, especially sunset everyday!
